Rules of Competitions

This poster competition is open to students, researchers, engineers, and science officers from public and private pre-university colleges, universities and industry.

The fee charged depends on the type of participation as stated on the website.

The theme of the competition is "Materials Beyond Borders".

The competition will be conducted primarily on-site; virtual mode is only allowed for East Malaysia and International participants.

Participants need to prepare the following items:

• Abstract (submitted digitally during registration)

• Presentation poster (printed and brought during the competition)

• Other related innovative materials (if any; brought during the competition)

Participants are given 15 minutes for a poster presentation and 5 minutes for a question and answer-session with the jury. A question and answer session will be conducted immediately after the presentation.

The poster must explain the following aspects:

• Research problems and project motivation

• Project background

• Research approach

• Material concept and product potential

• Innovations that have never been presented at any innovation event

• Original innovation results from participants and is not copied or copied from third parties

The poster must follow the prescribed format based on the example on the website. The format of the poster is as follows:

• Portrait A1 (594 x 841 mm)

• File type: JPEG or PDF

• Refer here for more detailed specifications.

Registration and abstract submission must be done by 22nd November 2024 via Google Form. Abstract templates are available on the website.

The file name sent must follow the following format: Full Name of Presenter_Institution. For example, Ahmad Bin Abu_UPM.

Participants who fail to comply with the above regulations will have their participation cancelled.

Pertandingan poster ini terbuka kepada pelajar, penyelidik, jurutera dan pegawai sains dari kolej pra-universiti, universiti dan industri awam serta swasta.

Yuran yang dikenakan bergantung kepada jenis penyertaan seperti yang dinyatakan dalam laman sesawang.

Tema pertandingan adalah “Materials Beyond Borders”.

Pertandingan akan dijalankan secara fizikal; mod maya hanya dibenarkan untuk peserta Malaysia Timur dan peserta Antarabangsa.

Peserta perlu menyediakan item-item berikut:

• Abstrak (dihantar dalam bentuk digital semasa pendaftaran)

• Poster pembentangan (dicetak dan dibawa semasa pertandingan)

• Bahan inovasi berkaitan (jika ada; dibawa semasa pertandingan)

Setiap individu dan kumpulan diberikan masa selama 15 minit untuk pembentangan poster dan 5 minit sesi soal jawab bersama juri. Sesi soal jawab akan dijalankan sejurus selepas pembentangan berakhir.

Poster mesti menerangkan aspek berikut:

• Masalah penyelidikan dan motivasi projek

• Latar belakang projek

• Pendekatan penyelidikan 

• Konsep bahan dan potensi produk

• Inovasi yang tidak pernah dipersembahkan di mana-mana acara inovasi

• Hasil inovasi yang asli daripada peserta dan tidak menceduk atau menyalin semula daripada pihak ketiga

Poster mestilah mengikut format yang ditetapkan berdasarkan contoh di laman web. Format poster adalah:

• Portrait A1 (594 x 841 mm)

• Jenis fail: JPEG atau PDF

• Rujuk sini untuk spesifikasi yang lebih terperinci.

Pendaftaran dan penghantaran abstrak boleh dilakukan selewat-lewatnya 22 November 2024 melalui Google Form. Templat abstrak boleh didapati di laman sesawang.

Nama fail yang dihantar hendaklah mengikut format berikut: Nama Penuh Pembentang_Institusi. Misalnya, Ahmad Bin Abu_UPM.

Penghantaran poster dalam bentuk elektronik (e-poster) boleh dilakukan Google Form selewat-lewatnya 22 November 2024.

Peserta yang gagal mematuhi peraturan-peraturan di atas akan dibatalkan penyertaannya.

This innovation competition is open to primary and secondary school students throughout Malaysia.

Each group consists of a 2 to 4 participants from the same school.

The theme of the competition is "Materials for Innovation Enhancement".

The competition comprises two stages:

• The preliminary stage is evaluated based on the digital poster submitted during registration.

• Selected innovation projects will proceed to the final stage, which will be conducted primarily on-site; a virtual mode is allowed only for participants from East Malaysia and international participants. 

All innovative materials produced must be presented in the competition hall.

Pertandingan inovasi ini terbuka kepada pelajar sekolah kebangsaan dan menengah seluruh Malaysia.

Kumpulan dianggotai oleh 2 hingga 4 orang peserta dari sekolah yang sama.

Tema pertandingan adalah “Materials for Innovation Enhancement”.

Pertandingan merangkumi dua peringkat:

• Peringkat saringan dinilai melalui poster digital yang dihantar semasa pendaftaran. 

• Projek inovasi yang terpilih akan mara ke peringkat akhir, yang akan dijalankan secara fizikal; mod maya hanya dibenarkan untuk peserta Malaysia Timur dan peserta Antarabangsa. 

Segala bahan inovasi yang dihasilkan perlu dipersembah dan dibentangkan di dalam dewan pertandingan.

Peserta diperuntukkan 15 minit bagi pembentangan Poster dan 5 minit bagi sesi soal jawab bersama juri yang diadakan sejurus selepas pembentangan.

Pembentangan poster mesti menerangkan aspek berikut:

• Masalah penyelidikan dan motivasi projek

• Latar belakang projek

• Pendekatan penyelidikan 

• Konsep fizik

• Potensi produk
